The Starry Night as you may know was painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1889. Since the year 1941 the painting has been part of a permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. It was told that Van Gogh claimed to have a "terrible need for religion" when he painted Starry Night Over the Rhone.
