Sea side......

Depression
Dark and deep
Like the Ocean
It begins to sallow me whole
I feel no pain
I am drowning in depression
I fight to stay afloat
My head is just above the waves
And I start to wonder
Will I sink into it?
Will it consume me?
Might I fight and win?
A light flicks
Far to my right
I swim towards it with all my might
I reach the shore
I cough and spit
Out comes the sea water
I am on land
I look toward the flickering light
I see a shape
Then I know
I look to the Ocean
There near the shore
It’s where I lie
I had fought
I had reached the shore
But I had made it there too late
I was dead
I turn back and see the shadow
And stare sadly
“My vision came true”
Is the last thing I say
Before my death came on swift feet
It takes me away and I smile as I feel
A feeling that I have not felt
Not in forever
Freedom.
